This implementation stores series of data (think of key-value store databases, but where the values will change often and where time is an essential component) in basic (and mostly ordered) text-files.  This is far from the big-ones, such as [http://influxdb.com/%|%InfluxDB] or [http://graphite.readthedocs.org/en/latest/%|%Graphite], but is an interested exercise in how to best support such requirements.
