[ulis]: On my PC your code takes 3s less! I can't understand why, do you know?

DPE: I found the "Create colour planes" part went from approx. 17s, down to 3s.
This varied from a ~60% (HSV) to ~25% (Expanding an image) improvement.
(On Windows 2000, 1 CPU at 750MHz).
